Ronald Koeman needs more Time for Assembling Squad
Ronald Koeman reckons a couple of weeks are not enough for him to assemble a squad he would like to assemble.
As per Koeman, if a certain name is on the target of a club which is not offering European Football and some other club comes in looking for that same name and it has European Football to offer as well, more often than not it will be able to beat the first club for the player.
And, Everton at the moment is obviously not providing any opportunity in Europe. So, buying players is difficult.
Recently, Lucas Perez was someone the Toffees were after, but, before they could go any closer to the agreement, Arsenal, which is one of England’s Champions’ League representatives, threw its hat in the game and snatched away the deal.
Koeman, however being a sport that he is, took it as a part of Football business admitting there was nothing abnormal in a player choosing an offer which would have seemed better to him.
Everton has had its fair share of inbound business in the meantime with four players landing at Goodison and the biggest catch is of course the Welshman Ashley Williams.
Williams is one of the wiliest men one can think of having in the backline, but, he would be watching the weekend’s game from the dugout only as Koeman says he is undertrained at the moment and can’t be played.
Phil Jagielka though, whose exit was supposed to be on the horizon, would take the pitch with Koeman saying the club is not left with enough centre halves to consider selling another one in the form of the veteran Englishman.
The Dutchman is, however, unsure on Lukaku regarding whom he says the hierarchy would take the last call.
